In August last year we were contacted by a Hamilton business owner who had been advised by his insurance company that he needed to upgrade his Paint Supply business premises security system to include fire protection due to their risk assessment of his business.
Without the upgrade he was at risk of losing his business insurance cover!
Having previously had Sterling Security install the business security system which he was very happy with, he naturally contacted us again and had a phone consultation with managing director Brendon Frost about adding fire protection.
Brendon remembered the premises well and the security system installed and advised the customer that we could do an upgrade to the existing hardware and monitor the building with three smoke detectors linked to his 24 hour a day monitoring service.
The customer accepted Brendon’s recommendation and understanding this was an urgent situation for the business customer Brendon had two technicians on site the very next morning to install the upgraded Bosch fire protection hardware.
The install of the new equipment was completed in three and a half hours with the only challenge being the height of the ceilings on which the smoke detectors were to be positioned. But after the customer supplied the installers with a scissor lift to complete the job the install was straight forward.
The customer was so happy with our workmen ship and the timely fashion in finishing the job, he organised Sterling Security to prewire his new home over Christmas and complete the fit off in the new year when the home was complete.
He has now passed his insurance inspection for his business and council compliance for his new home.
