Sterling Security consultant Guy was recently contacted by a home owner that had interrupted a burglary in progress at their home the previous day.
The customer had disturbed the burglars upon arriving home and the burglars had then escaped into the bush reserve located next door which was an easy place for the burglars to hide.
Homes located next to public areas, parks and bush reserves are unfortunately a high risk of being burgled due to the natural cover and escape route provided to the burglars.
In this instance the home owner lost family jewellery and heirlooms along with some Nike sports shoes. If they had not disturbed the burglars the losses would have been worse.
Guy visited the home and assessed the situation, recommending a full wireless home security alarm system as the house was built on poles with raked ceilings and no roof cavity. A totally wireless security system was the only option available in this case due to the house construction.
The customer accepted the quote and the very next day we sent out alarm installers to install the RISCO wireless alarm with three sensors and remotes in just two hours.
The only real challenge with this particular install was that we had to come through the floor with a phone line and power cable to ensure the best placement of the main alarm unit was in the centre of the home without looking out of place.
In addition to the hardware the customer chose self-monitoring to their mobile phones so they could be quickly alerted of any break in attempts as they work a quick drive away from their home.
Guy followed up the customer ten days after the home security system installation and the customer was happy with the speed of the install, the low price of the equipment and is very happy that they are able to “sleep” at night!
