Landlord Organises Home Security Alarm for Recently Burgled Hamilton Rental Property

In October this year we were approached by the landlord of a rental property in Hamilton that had recently been burgled in broad daylight.

Despite the rental property being on a busy Hamilton street the burglars broke in via the front door and stole household items including a laptop and TV. These are some of the most common household items to be stolen during home burglaries as they are easily removed and even easier to sell second hand with little ability for owners to trace them.

If you take into account the cost of your home contents insurance excess to replace even a few items along with the time spent dealing with the burglary and the feeling of loss, insecurity and anxiety a burglary creates then the small outlay for a good home security alarm system is well worth it.

In this case the landlord of the rental property was happy to install the alarm knowing that it not only dealt with the immediate issue but increases the value of the rental property, the weekly rental return and the quality of the tenants that a secure home will attract in future should the current tenants leave.

Knowing well that the tenants were feeling shaken up by the burglary they had just experienced we responded quickly to secure their home within 2 days of the burglary installing a four sensor Bosch home security alarm with 3 remotes, one for each of the tenants.

The Bosch home security alarm system is fully monitored by our local alarm monitoring service, ensuring if the burglars do return again when the tenants are not home that we will quickly respond to limit any potential loss.

This was a relatively simple alarm installation as it was an older home with plenty of roof space. Two of our alarm technicians completed the job in just 2 hours during a week day.

The front door has also been reinforced by the landlord and our installers fixed signage onto the rental property fencing as an added deterrent to burglars.

Since the initial security alarm installation we have visited the tenants again to ensure they are using the alarm correctly and are comfortable with operating it. They were grateful for the follow up service and were feeling secure again within their home.
