In June this year Sterling Security were approached by the owners of a large rural Waikato home that had an existing security alarm system which was supplied & monitored by a large Auckland based Security Company.
The alarm was continuously false activating, especially when the home owners were out of town which was causing increased anxiety and loss of time dealing with the repeated false alerts.
Considering the recent security history of the property included a burglary and prowlers, this was not an acceptable situation for the property owners to be placed in. They felt they were receiving substandard service from the existing Auckland based alarm supplier.
To make the situation more irritating for the home owners only the existing security supplier could work on the home security alarm system due to its uniqueness and difficulty to work on!
The home owners were at breaking point and reached out to our local security expert Guy Evelyn for help.
Guy responded quickly and after discussing the issues with the customer and assessing the situation we recommended an upgrade to the security hardware, replacing the existing alarm equipment with Sterling Security’s Bosch products whilst utilising the existing alarm cabling. This meant the new install took our technicians just 3 hours.
As part of the upgraded home security system the environment in the homes adjoining shed was of concern due to the heat generated during the day. Our expert security installers needed to ensure the wireless sensor was positioned correctly so as to stop any false alerts.
The end result included 4 sensors, smoke detector in the house, a wireless sensor in the big shed and remotes for easy activation and deactivation of the alarm.
Despite still having the choice to monitor from Auckland the customer also chose to changeover to our locally operated alarm monitoring service.
The end result is a very happy customer as to date there have been no more false activations and the home owners can travel away from home with complete piece of mind.
