IP & GPRS Module for Security Alarm System
An IP & GPRS module is an additional option for your home security or business alarm system that allows your security alarm system to communicate back to the monitoring station via the landline data modem and/or GPRS data network.
The options are to connect via GPRS mobile data network fulltime or via the landline modem IP protocol and if that fails then it switches over to GPRS.
An IP & GPRS module is a more secure option for your alarm system even if you have a standard copper wire phone line because if the phone line & power are cut the security system can still communicate back to the alarm monitoring station because the alarm system will continue to run on its battery back-up.
Moving to fibre broadband or using naked broadband?
Then you will need to use an IP & GPRS module as part of your security alarm system if you wish to monitor your alarm system as you do not have a standard phone line for the alarm system to communicate through.
In fact many consumers do not realise changing over to fibre broadband removes the normal phone which no longer allows your alarm system to communicate. You will most likely need to upgrade your system to include an IP & GPRS module.
Our IP & GPRS modules are compatible with our Bosch alarm systems as well as most other brand alarm systems that have an on board communicator.
No additional time is required when installing the module as part of a new security system and only approx. 30 minutes labour is required to add the module onto an existing system.
